Blessing or curse?
You know your friends have given up on you when they stop writing "& Guest" on your wedding invitations. Sure, we both know that there is a 90% chance that you are getting the card back with a big fat 1 on it, but at least hold out hope.

Not to totally blow your point away, but some people don't offer "and guest" because each plate is really expensive. They may only have a budget for just you, period. I learned this when I thought I would just bring a friend so I wouldn't be lonely at a wedding, and I was scolded by another friend who'd recently gotten married.
Meanwhile, just as a backup plan: you could always go gay.
... I'm just sayin. I know you're not, but... option. The gays... they like smart.
